WHAT IS SKIN/MICRO-NEEDLING

So lately you have heard the words: MICRONEEDLING well I like to call is SKIN-NEEDLING as people get very confused between Microneedling and Microblading which is two WAY different concepts.

Microblading is only done to eyebrows: Microblading is a way of semi-permanent make-up, where through manual process of inserting pigment into the upper layers of skin we create the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. The effects last up to 12 months after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were.

NOW PLEASE GET THIS WORD OUT OF YOUR MIND BECAUSE WE ARE TALKING

SKIN / MICRO NEEDLING

WHAT IS NEEDLING?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, has a lot of people talking. Microneedling, also known as skin needling, is a procedure using a device with tiny, shallow needles to essentially poke holes in the skin surface. Those holes are actually therapeutic, since they cause a ‘micro injury’ that prompts skin to stimulate collagen production, filling in fine lines, plumping the skin and contributing to a younger look.

WHAT AREAS ARE TREATED?

Microneedling works great for sunken areas on the skin caused by acne or chickenpox, as well as for fine lines, discoloration and general skin rejuvenation. This safe procedure isn’t just for the face, though. It can also be used on many areas of the body, including the arms, neck, legs, abdomen, back and hands. We can customize microneedling to the desires of each patient.

DIFFERENT DEVICES SAME FUNCTION?

I often get the question "What is the difference between skin needling and the Derma pen?". It is exactly the same thing just done with different devices, it depends at which institution you studied. Derma pen, derma rollers and skin needling devices like the BELUS I use all do the same thing. They only have different names. The olden days the used the Derma roller as technology improved they invented a machine that looks like a pen - this device just makes it easier to reach those difficult places around the eyes, mouth neck etc. But in a nutshell they all have the same function

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING MICRO NEEDLING:

First, an anesthetic cream is applied to the client’s skin to keep them comfortable during the procedure. A therapist then moves the microneedling device over the patient’s skin, creating tiny holes in the surface. The process typically takes less than 30 minutes, and afterward, your skin can be somewhat red, similar to a sunburn. I always tell my clients to not plan anything 24 hours after the procedure, and to only use moisturizer. It takes only a couple of days for skin to look fairly normal and this also really depends on the elasticity of each persons skin as well some take 7 hours some 3 days, but results gradually become apparent. Natural collagen growth happens over weeks and months, so it isn’t an instant fix, but your skin will be much improved over the long term. One thing to know, though: You’ll need more than one treatment. This isn’t a one-time event. Depending on the skin areas treated and what you’re trying to achieve, somewhere between three and six microneedling treatments are typically required for optimal results. Those looking to treat deep wrinkles, stretch marks, severe sun damage or scarring may need six or more microneedling treatments, and to ensure the safety of your skin, treatments are usually spaced out three weeks to a month apart.”

WHO SHOULD NOT DO THIS:

Pregnant females and client's using blood thinner medication.

PREPARATION BEFORE AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE:

Do not drink coffee or any caffeine drinks the day of the procedure as this has an impact on the topical anesthetics. Do not drink alcohol the night before as it thins the blood. Afterwards do not use any make-up for at least 24 hours the longer the better, and do your normal facial routine using even a little more product after the procedure as it penetrates deeper into the skin.

THE PROCEDURE IS DONE FOR:

Treatment of scars, acne scars, wrinkles, stretchmarks, pigmentation, skin rejuvenation, sun damage, burn scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, spider veins, aged loose neck, sagging skin, bags around the eyes etc.

PLEASE SEE BELOW MY OWN PERSONAL BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS OF PROCEDURES DONE ON CLIENTS, ONE THAT WAS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD THAT TOLD ME THE PROCEDURE TICKLES:

This is stretchmarks and varicose veins
